What is Affiliate Marketing For Beginners Guide

Before we delve into What is Affiliate Marketing for Beginners Guide, ask yourself a few questions. Are you already working full time, but you can’t seem to make ends meet? Are you unemployed and want to start your own business but don’t have the funds to start? Are you Tired of working for the man, and you are ready to be your own boss? Are you just ready to learn something new?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Affiliate Market might be for you. So here is the beginner’s guide to affiliate marketing.

What is Affiliate Marketing

In the simplest terms, Affiliate Marketing is when you choose to market or advertise a niche product, whether physical, digital, or service, for a commission.

How Do I Choose A niche product or service to promote

Choosing your niche product or service is probably the most important first step when becoming an Affiliate Marketer. You want to choose a niche product or service that you are passionate about. Basically, if you can’t find a product or service that you can convince a friend or family member they need, you have not found your niche.

What if I can’t find an affiliate program for my niche?

Not all online businesses have an affiliate program set up where you can get a commission if you promote their product or service. Frankly, some online businesses are doing well enough on their own without your help. I would suggest signing up with an Affiliate Marketing Network.

An Affiliate Marketing Network is like an Online Mall of Online businesses who want and need you to promote their products and services. Once you sign up for one of these Affiliate Marketing Network programs, you can run a search in their database for online businesses that match your niche. Here a list of Affiliate Marketing Networks that have worked for me:

  • Amazon Affiliates
  • Commission Junction
  • Rakuten
  • Share A Sale
  • Awin

Ok, I got my niche; now what?

If you have truly chosen your niche, you will need a website or blog to promote your niche. Your website or blog will be where you write reviews and post on your niche product or service. Let’s say your niche will be about exercise bikes, and the idea is you write about your favorite exercise bike on your website and why anybody looking for an exercise bike should buy one.

Then hopefully, when someone is online searching google for an exercise bike, they come across your review on your favorite exercise bike. If someone reads your review and clicks on the affiliate link for the exercise bike and buys the exercise bike, you get a percentage of the sale.

Where can I get a website or blog?

There are many websites and blog services online that will help you build your website or blog. I have tried a few out throughout the years. Here are some of the Best Website and blog service I have used that you can try out for free:

  • Wix
  • GoDaddy
  • Word Press
  • Rubix

How do I get people to come to my Website or Blog?

Word of mouth is a great way to promote your niche and your site. You can let your friends and family know about your site, and that will generate some traffic. You first want to make sure the three major search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo are listing your post and site on their search engine. Once you have done that, you want to promote any content you write on the following social media platforms:

  • You Tube
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Pinterest
  • Instagram

In Conclusion

What is Affiliate Marketing for Beginners Guide is just a crash course. I have to admit I have tried to run an online business off and over the past 20 years. I didn’t find success until I came across affiliate marketing. Now I did not become successful on my own.

I came across an affiliate marketing training program called Wealthy Affiliate. I had no money to get started, but I was desperate to learn. Hi Moody!

I think affiliate marketing sounds like a great opportunity! I have been trying to come up with ideas on how to make some extra income that doesn’t require me to be away from home. That’s how I ended up here.

I am curious, if I wanted to start affiliate marketing, would there be much upfront cost? How much time do I really need to make it happen. I am working but just to make ends meet and need to figure something out!

This sounds like a great opportunity but you know, I am wary.

      Hi Chad,

Thank you for your comments on this post. I checked out your blog at groomydude.com , and it seems you are already on your way to Affiliate Marketing. As I mention in the post, the most important thing when starting Affiliate Marketing is to find a niche that you are passionate about.

It’s important to find a niche you are passionate about because Affiliate Marketing, as you may know, involves writing a lot of content. I have found that if you’re not buying what you are selling, your readers won’t either. Therefore, your readers won’t click on any affiliate links you may have on your post. I personally ended up doing Affiliate Marketing because I desperately wanted to learn something new. I came across an Affiliate Marketing Program that teaches you Affiliate Marketing called Wealthy Affiliate

The cost to start was free and if I felt like what I was learning was beneficial, I could then go premium. I believe it was $19 the first month I went premium and $49 a month thereafter. Any additional cost you may incur will be purely how you want to run your Blog. Since I have been able to get my traffic organically, I really don’t pay for anything else. Regarding how long it will take to become a successful Affiliate Marketer is up to you! Some people see conversions within a year, and for some, it takes 2-3 years.

The fact is Affiliate Marketing is a long game. When I started in 2019, I had a full-time job. I have since been able to transition to part-time. My goal is to leave my part-time job at the beginning of 2022 and transition full-time to Affiliate marketing. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.

      Best Wishes
